Youth Track and Running Club: Get Ready to run!!!

Winter Season starts Monday January 10, 2011. We welcome back Coach Charles Waller and Coach Krishna Curry and they lead our runners to new achievements. Ready to register, call our manager Dr. Marie at 310-316-2806 and sign up. We have great new shirts, new training games and a special event at the end of the season.

The story of YTRC

History

Youth Track and Running Club is a non profit organization, 501 c(3), founded in Feb.06 by three partners:

an American athlete, Khadevis Robinson,

a German high performance coach, Anne Merrem,

and a French marketing consultant, Isabelle du Cluzeau.

Anne Merrem was coaching Khadevis Robinson, they both wanted to create a club for kids, with the goal to promote running and to increase kids’ fun with movement and their appreciation of a healthy lifestyle. They met Isabelle who was ready for a new project, they started to work on it in January 06, in April 06, the first season went underway in Santa Monica with 30 kids.

Since then, we have implemented a highly successful, innovative and fun year round program for kids between the ages of 6 and 16 years, with many of them returning season after season.

Funding

In the Past, Nike and the LA84 Foundation where supporting our initiative through sponsorship and a grant. This enabled us to give our young club members a one-time gift of free Nike spikes and running shirts with the club logo. We were also able to offer 30 scholarships to underprivileged kids. We purchased new and advanced equipment and specialists’ services to implement our innovative and high energy program.
